Questions to Consider: You as a student and today's students
Consider the following questions:
- As a student, what were your greatest fears?
- Now think about today's students. How do you compare their life situations to yours at a similar age?
- What are their fears, and how do they deal with them?
- How might you address their fears more effectively?

Reflecting upon your experiences as a student can be a good empathy tool in connecting with the students in your classes. You will probably find their hopes and fears to be very similar to your own. At the same time, it is also important to consider how their lives and experiences are different from your own.
You will find information about this general topic in the Instructor and Students sections of the website.
