Quizzes

Quizzes are limited in scope and usually administered in fifteen minutes or less. They can be used for a variety of reasons. Some instructors use quizzes as a way of taking attendance and encouraging students to come to class regularly. They are used to hold students accountable for preparing for class. Quizzes can also be used as a way to illustrate the kind of format and rigor that will be used on midterms and finals without the added pressure of counting for a signficant portion of the course grade.
