Course Cover Sheet

A course cover sheet is an excellent first week activity. This worksheet gives students an opportunity to review the syllabus policies and important dates. Students are encouraged to identify the major themes and questions of the course, as well as their own learning goals. It also allows students to reflect on their prior knowledge and anxieties about the topic. Assign this worksheet as your first homework to ensure that the policies and purpose of the course is clear, discover what your students already know, what they are most interested in, and get a reading comprehension/writing sample all at once.
