About us
Welcome to the Teaching Effectiveness Program at the University of Oregon.
In 1987 the Center for Academic Learning Services (now the Teaching and Learning Center) established the Teaching Effectiveness Program through a grassroots effort by faculty asking where they could go to get help with their teaching
Since that time TEP has offered confidential services and workshops on all aspects of teaching and learning including designing a course, improving presentation skills, facilitating discussions, dealing with difficult student situations, using instructional technology, teaching large classes, and receiving feedback on teaching. TEP services are free to all who teach.
Our mission is to support instructors by providing a space for conversations about the rewards and challenges of teaching; to foster an inclusive environment where instructors can access resources and develop strategies to meet their teaching goals; and to build a community of life long learners who share in the enduring joy of learning.
