The Overcrowded Office Hour
GTFs tell me that students rarely come to office hours. Here are a few possibilities to lure your students in:
- Hold your office hours in an interesting place - like the atrium of Willamette, or Napoli during a slow part of the afternoon.
- Let students know you will be going over something you know has given them a lot of trouble. In other words, give them a specific reason to come.
- Hold small group office hours. Specifically invite 4-5 students and check in with how they are doing in the course.
- Serve brownies.
