You have most likely heard lots of hype about blogs, wikis, and podcasts. Perhaps you have wondered, "Are these technologies just a fad?" Come learn what each technology is, how they are being used in the classroom, and explore strategies for integrating them into your courses.
The first session of this three-part workshop will focus on the use of wikis in university courses. Guest faculty speakers Mark Blaine, School of Journalism and Communications, and Skip McFarlane, Digital Arts Program will discuss their utilization of wiki technology in creating interactive student learning forums.
The second session focuses on podcasts, with Al Stavitsky, School of Journalism and Communication, speaking on the use of podcasting in large lecture courses as a new and vibrant content delivery tool.
The third session focuses on blogs, with Scott Huette, Arts and Administration, discussing the use of blogging technology to supplement instructional practices such as student journaling and creative writing.
