Teaching with Technology
The Teaching Effectiveness Program offers workshops throughout the academic year to help instructors integrate technology effectively into their teaching. See our Schedule of Events for workshops and classes running this term. These workshops focus on various aspects of instructional technology.
Offerings include:
-
Blogs, Wikis, and Podcasts, Oh My!
Learn what these technologies are, how you create them, and why you would want to use them in your teaching.
- Use Blackboard to Get Immediate Midterm Student Feedback
You can get this valuable and anonymous feedback quickly and easily by using Blackboard's assessment feature. Join us for a one-hour jam session and walk away with one ready-to-use midterm feedback survey and some tips for increasing students' response rates.
- 8 Ways to Use Online
Assessments for Face-to-Face Courses
Learn how instructors are using online assessments in their face-to-face courses to facilitate better discussion, assess lecture clarity, highlight key information from readings, for evaluations and more.
- Using
Technology as a Feedback Tool for Student Writing
This workshop is designed to teach instructors how to use a specific feature of Microsoft Word to provide feedback on student papers. Using this function can save time and provide students with more thorough and consistent feedback.
We are open to suggestions on training
topics from anyone with instructional responsibilities. We can also
provide workshops designed
to meet the specific needs of individual departments.
