How do we deepen classroom inquiry and discussion so that students can sharpen their critical thinking and develop their capacity for ethical dialogue about complex issues? In this workshop we’ll consider scholarship on the use of community inquiry to promote critical thinking and facilitate ethical dialogue. We’ll explore specific strategies and classroom exercises that can help students hone their critical thinking skills and practice ethical reflection and discussion with each other; we’ll also consider ways to assess classroom dialogue and keep students accountable for their learning.
